In January of 2022, Chief Brian Scarlato decided the time had come to step away from the top spot. Not stepping far, he stepped into the 1st Asst. Chief spot, allowing his brother and retired Bridgeton City Batt. Chief Kevin Scarlato to occupy the top spot. No other changes in the lineup of officers for the 2022 year. Kevin becomes only the 10th Chief in the history of the Cedarville Fire Department. Brian served as Chief for 13 years and was the youngest Fire Officer in the CFD history. But his 13 years fall to comparison to his father Michael Scarlato, who served 26 years as Chief and has now seen his two sons in the fire service follow his footsteps to the top spot in Cedarville Fire.

On Wednesday November 8th at approx. 1030 am Ladder 17 & Tender 1711 responded to 310 Main Street for a reported heater on fire inside of a 2.5 story multi-family dwelling. Units arrived to find nothing showing and quickly located the source of the smoke.
